Overview

What is ISO 9001?

ISO 9001 is the world's most widely used quality management system (QMS) standard. It sets requirements for how an organization plans, controls, and continually improves the processes that affect product and service quality — from leadership and risk-based thinking to document control, corrective action, and management review.

Certification is granted by an accredited third-party registrar after a two-stage audit. Getting there is less about paperwork and more about building a system your team actually uses — which is exactly where most companies get stuck without help.

FAQ

Common questions

How long does ISO 9001 certification take?

Most organizations reach ISO 9001 certification in about 3–6 months, depending on your size, starting point, and how mature your processes already are. A gap assessment up front gives you a realistic date.

Do we need ISO 9001 to work with certain customers?

Often, yes. Many OEMs, government buyers, and larger customers require ISO 9001 certification (or an equivalent) from their suppliers. It is frequently a gate to bidding on new business.

Can you help a small company?

Yes. We right-size the system to your operation — a small firm does not need the same documentation load as a 500-person plant, and over-building a QMS is one of the most common and costly mistakes we fix.

What is the difference between ISO 9001 and a full QMS?

ISO 9001 is the standard; a QMS is the actual set of processes and records that meet it. We help you build a QMS that both satisfies the standard and improves how you run day to day.
